We are seeking friendly, attentive, and detail-oriented Restaurant Host to join our team. The ideal candidates will provide exceptional professional, yet friendly service to our guests in a fast-paced dining environment. In this position, you’ll manage the dining room’s nightly seating charts, show guests to their tables, and help provide an overall exceptional dining experience for our guests. Breakfast and dinner shifts are available.
Responsibilities:
Perform host station setup prior to the dining room opening, which includes creating the nightly seating chart
Take and prepare guest take-out orders
Manage wait lists, which includes regularly communicating with the kitchen and servers to determine waitlist details
When necessary, help clear tables, reset for next guests, and maintain cleanliness in the dining area
Setup and maintain buffets when necessary
Process payments using POS systems and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth service
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Maintain a positive and friendly attitude, even during busy times
Keep host station cleanly at all times and prepare it for the next shift
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a host in a restaurant or similar role is a plus, but not necessary - this role is a great entry level position for students looking for summer work or weekends throughout the year!
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills
Familiarity with POS systems a plus, but not required
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Team player with a positive attitude
Breakfast shifts require early mornings and weekends
Dinner shifts require late nights and weekends
Weekends are required
